Sean Fister Power Golf Swing Video

The video below of Sean “The Beast” Fister’s power golf swing is an excellent slow motion illustration of what a raw power golf swing looks like. He won the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship in 2005 with a winning drive of 377 yards, which can be viewed in the video below.

A few things to look for in this video:

  • Minimal movement of the lower body through impact.
  • Straight line through shoulder, arm and shaft at impact.
  • A long swing is not always needed for power. He doesn’t even get the club to parallel at the top.
  • Take note of his incredible launch conditions. For reference sake, Tiger Woods can get up to around 180 MPH ball speed on a good drive, with 195 MPH being his reported max.

You must have Flash installed on your computer to view this video. If you do not have Macromedia Flash Player you can download it here.

I am always impressed whenever I watch Sean swing. He generates an incredible amount of rotational power and does not even get his club to parallel at the top of the backswing. That is amazing because it means that he has less time to generate maximum club head speed than someone that goes past parallel on the backswing.

He generates more club head speed in less time than almost any golfer on the planet. In order to do that you need to have POWER, and lots of it. This is an incredible testimony to his rotational strength and power and is also an excellent example of what proper strength and conditioning will allow you to do to a golf ball….absolutely punish it.
